Me neither... Her match with Safarova is 50/50 at best.

However there are several other players who have a good chance of making their first GS semi final - Wozniacki, Cornet, Cibulkova, Zvonareva. I think one of them will make it.

Has Vera really never been there?

Edit: Just looked it up, QF at FO'03 was her best. I'm surprised; I thought she had certainly made a SF during her first emergence.

Wozniacki was my pre-tournament prediction, but Vera's been playing very well.

I'd like to not think about the possibility of Cibulkova

Even Pennetta could make it!

That's why even the Maid could do it. This half of the draw is absolutely wide open. Not saying she's a fave, but she's def got a shot.

She has a shot, but I don't think that quarter is open at all. It'll be either Jankovic or Zvonareva. Vera has a great record againt Nadia

I remember first seeing his name in relation to tennis and thinking of the artist.

This Vallejo is French, I think. He coached Cilic then Dancevic until switching to Muller last fall.

They're allready saying heightened security for this match. With all the Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian issues that have been happening in this tournament, be interesting to see how Nole and Amer handle any crowd hostility. Of course, the fact that it is in the largest stadium at Thunder Melbourne Park might make a difference.
I was just reading a blog over at Tennis.com talking about the Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian flare-ups. According to the article, Delic apologized to PHM after the match for the crowd behavior and said he was going to put a posting on his website encouraging the fans to behave themselves as well as contacting leaders in the local Bosnian community.
