Mzn is right. Ana didn't dump Sven. Sven essentially dumped Ana.

From the wonderful Tom Tebbutt in Sydney:

Korolev, 20, was watched over by Sven Groeneveld, the Adidas team coach. Groeneveld later mentioned that Korolev, who was ranked as high as No. 63 in 2007, is coming back after groin surgery.

Groeneveld also talked about his much-discussed relationship with Ana Ivanovic. He had been her main coach when she had her Grand Slam breakthrough victory at the French Open last year, but he explained that, because of matters related to his personal life, he had been unable to spend the pre-season with her as he did a year ago. Groeneveld, a Dutchman, said that last fall he had set up Ivanovic with his compatriot Melle Van Gemerden, a 29-year-old who ranked as high as No. 100 on the men’s tour in 2006, as a practice partner.

“Ana is still part of the program and we’ll see what happens in Melbourne,” he said, commenting about the possibility of working with her at the Australian Open. http://tennis.com/features/general/f...aspx?id=155558

Default Ana and Sven break it off?
There’s big news out of the AI camp though when it was reported by Neil Harman that she’s parting ways with her main coach, Adidas’ head of player development, Sven Groenefeld. But Ivanovic's camp says that the two could re-united in Melbourne, but also says that the Aussie Open finalist is 'enjoying the freedom of being on her own.'

If Ana's camp thinks for one second that she's capable of going without a coach...

What an absolutely boneheaded decision. Instead of dropping Sven, I was hoping that someone was going to cut a deal to get him away from Adidas, and have him on her staff fulltime. She absolutely needs someone for coaching.

There are some rumors floating that he is going to be working with Wozniacki. Not clear if full time or only as part of his job with Adidas...

He's already gotten one pony-tail wearing blondie some Slam hardware, Suliso. All credit to her if she can lure him away from Adidas.

Dang, this infuriates me. I'l bet Dragana is behind it. i just don't like that woman one small bit

If the magic has worn off her working with Sven, then okay, look for someone else. But for Ana to go at it alone at this point is a bit of an "uh-oh"...

Not a good career choice for Ana even though Sven is contracted to work with all Adidas people.

Any chance Sven isn't wild about her relationship with Fernando? I remember young love. It can make you do really silly things...

Has Ana renewed her deal with Adidas? I think there is more to come on this topic. But I agree, she can't do it on her own.

Sven works for Adidas. In addition to the rumors about Caro there is also talk of Ana leaving Adidas. I know I would if all they could offer me is that god-awful purple thingie.

And yes, she needs a coach.

There was a story in Blic (the Serbian National News) that Ana was preparing to sign what they called the richest deal in the history of the sport since Steffi was playing. Maybe it fell apart, and that is part of this?

Sven's Dutch, correct? Wonder if that plays in at all?

Wasn't there talk that Nike was looking to sign her? If she is not resigning with Adidas then she would have to break with Sven. But Sven could follow her, just in time for the AO? Anyway, I am sure she won't do it alone.

I read rumors that Sven hand picked a hitting partner to take over. In any event, I'm going to take a optimistic outlook on the situation. Maybe no amount of money or persuasion would have convinced Sven to leave. Perhaps it was time for Ana to move on.
