Nikolay Davydenko is out of AO because of a heel injury sustained at the Chennai Open.

These are the likely top 8 seeds for the AO now that Davydenko is out. Could we ask for better quarter-finalists than this?
Updated ATP Draw 1 Nadal, Rafael ESP 1 2 Federer, Roger SUI 2 3 Djokovic, Novak SRB 3 4 Murray, Andy GBR 4 OUT Davydenko, Nikolay RUS 5 6 Tsonga, Jo-Wilfried FRA 6 7 Simon, Gilles FRA 7 8 Roddick, Andy USA 8 9 Del Potro, Juan Martin ARG 9 I said this in chat the other night, Davydenko has taken so much from tennis but given back so little to the it. He is the rare elite athlete who actually makes a sport more compelling by his absense. |
