Default What livestreams will you be purchasing in 2009?
I've been annoying everyone about their tennis livestream purchases, so let me ask my TAT family, what livestreams will you be purchasing this year?

I'll probably sign up for Masters series TV and I am considering purchasing the tennis.tv package when I find out how much it will be. I know that the Russian Tennis Channel provides good coverage, but is it worth 62 bucks per quarter year?

Any other paid livestreams out there that we should know about?

Thanks for your suggestions and insights!

3. Web TV (not every month)

The Russians
ATP Masters
Wimby Live (best of them all)
TennisTV once I know what the damage is

I let the Russians go at the end of the year but I find you need another source for matches during the "meaty part" of the season.

ATP Masters
Wimby Live
probably TennisTV

Where can I find out about the Russians? Is that available to everyone? It does sound a bit pricey.

Here's the site, winston.

http://www.rutelevision.com/index-en.asp

There's a free 3-day trial. The price is high because they have about 20 channels off of Russian TV and because they're the only online provider of the series of channels that includes the tennis one. There are several other sports channels that broadcast a lot of stuff live that the US doesn't (like figure skating, winter sports and probably every third soccer match ever played) if that ups the appeal.

Thanks m8. I'll check it out. Actually, the "winter sports/skating" may add to the appeal.

I am not sure it would make sense to get both atp masters and tennisTV since the latter would cover most of the stuff on the former no?

Much better than bass fishing/hot dog eating contests featured regularly on ESPN.

Maybe Wimby Live? Not ATP Masters Series TV again. I'm just not that interested in most of the events to justify the purchase again.

I've still got my Masters Series season pass which will finish in October...

I'll get TennisTV, Wimbledon Live and also the Russian WebTV on some months.

The main reason is that those betting live streams don't work for me so I have to resort to WebTV, the picture doesn't run smoothly, but I guess I must be in similar sort of company here since those betting streams are restricted to US residents.

If I were to get Wimbledon Live, does getting it early do anything special? If I were to buy it now, would I be able to watch matches from Wimbledon 2008, and then the new ones for 2009?

I think they want tennisTV to take over from Masters Series TV but I'm not sure. When they're ready to roll I'll see what happens. My season pass for Masters Series TV runs out in November.

Charlie Wimby live keeps the matches from the previous year up for quite some time. They also have special pricing as Wimbledon approaches.

I think they are for Europeans only. Don't work here in USA...

As for me - probably only Wimbledon Live. MSTV is good, but I am rarely at home during the play (or it's in the middle of the night) and they don't have archives. Not worth it...

Sorry I meant not available for US residents, meaning they can't see them.

I can see them myself, it's just that it doesn't play properly, but it used to work. Although they also block it out for the home country of that event usually so none of the Australian tournaments will be on there.
