Some early results from American women's WC tournament:

Christina Mchale def Mallory Cecil 6-0, 6-1
Vania King def Coco Vandeweghe 7-6, 6-1
Madison Brengle def Asia Muhammad 6-0, 6-3
Gail Brodsky def Lauren Albanese 6-3, 6-3

Miserable results for both Coco and Asia. Absolutely nothing special about Vania or Madison...

I see Sophie is playing Monika today. Wouldn't it be funny if Sophie (lost to Jelena in 1st round) defeats Monika (defeated Jelena yesterday)?

Tennis and it's unpredictability.....sometimes, you never know what is going to happen but I'm still rooting for Jelena.

I'm in wait and see mode with her. When she plays a fuller schedule and doesn't look like she's going through the motions to con money out of get support from Tennis Australia I'll pay more attention to her.

I know she's a fave of yours but her "comeback" started the same way last year.

I would have to think that with a ranking of 179, Dokic will get a WC into the AO anyway. Who else would they give them to?

And who would it be?

P.S. Are you going to keep your avatar if Nicole dominates the tour next year?

There's lots of players at 1-1 now after Day 2. I'm still pulling for Jelena - she seems to really want it this time and that is a big factor, IMHO.

GO JELENA!!!!
