Tennis Star’s Website Adds Behind-the-Scenes Photos
From Olympics, Fashion Week, US Open and More

Port Washington, New York (October 29, 2008): Venus Williams is offering fans a rare opportunity to see what really goes on behind the scenes for the tennis superstar and clothing designer at major events like the Olympics, New York City Fashion Week†, the US Open† and many others to come. “V’s Photo Blog” launches today as a new feature on elevenbyvenus.com, Venus’s official website and the online home of the ELEVEN BY VENUS WILLIAMS™ collection, her apparel and sneaker collection available exclusively at STEVE & BARRY’S® stores. V’s Photo Blog is packed with candid photo albums taken by and featuring Venus, her friends and family, as they travel the world to professional tennis events, celebrity and fashion parties, and more. Photo albums from Venus’s latest events will be added regularly.

“Creating the photo blog for the elevenbyvenus website has been a lot of fun,” said Venus Williams. “People always ask what my life is really like when I’m on the road, and now they’ll have a chance to see for themselves. It’s been interesting to look back on my travels and relive so many great moments, and I am happy to be able to share these experiences with my fans.”

The debut of V’s Photo Blog features a photo album of Venus at the Beijing Olympics, including a behind-the-scenes look at some of the lighter moments with the US Olympic tennis team during their time in China, and an inside look at Venus’s Gold Medal win in doubles with her sister, Serena. Fans can have an up-close look at the kickoff ceremony for the 2008 US Open, which commemorated the US Open’s 40th anniversary and featured 40 years of past US Open Champions, a performance by Earth Wind and Fire and a host of celebrities in attendance. This ceremony was one of many of Venus’s appearances prior to the much anticipated quarterfinal match between her and Serena in the US Open quarterfinals.

Venus graduated with a degree in fashion design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale last December, soon after the launch of her ELEVEN BY VENUS WILLIAMS clothing line at STEVE & BARRY’S stores. I find the Eleven site so limiting, not fan friendly at all.
