GO KIMIKO!!! I had a hunch she would be playing in Tokyo, glad I was right.
Wonder if she still has those acupuncture needles sticking out of her shoulder?

The world is safe.

Wait. How many people would have to withdraw for her to get a lucky loser spot? 32? You can never count her out... She's like a giant cockroach that just keeps showing up when you least expect it...

I'll make a bold prediction that at least one of the top 4 seeds makes the final.

Svetlana has it tough. She's coming in from Spain and has to play Li again.

I can't see Dinara not making the semis unless she's really getting tired. Hopefully she's rested up a bit after the US Open. I could go for a Ana/Dinara semi if both can make it that far.

Surprised that no one has pointed out yet that Kimiko beat Dellacqua in qualifying 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Tough break- she now must play Wozniak just to try to qualify.

(How the heck did Kimiko not get a wild card here?!?!?)

Wozniak always reminds me of a Fargo mom who just happened to pick up a tennis racquet. "Look at the ball go! Wild! Oh wait, oh wait, it's coming back..."
