Wouldn't Ginepri be better for clay? Or Odesnik ?

I have read that Almagro is going to be an alternate and that Emilio SV will decide on the final players before the draw. I am almost sure that Almagro will play instead of Ferrer, because of Nico's great clay season and David poor results of the last months.

I can't say I'm that surprised. Blake has had a rough last month or so.

Sam,
Welcome to Davis Cup, baptism by fire, in Madrid no less! I'll see you next week.

It may not have even been PMac's?

IMHO, I think it was Blake's. Between the Olympics fiasco and his poor US Open his "spirit" is not in a good place right now. Plus, he has to get ready for Mardy's wedding.

Shamil better be just joking with the Kunitsyn nomination. I guess he wants to possibly use Kunitsyn/Tursunov for doubles if Andreev/Davydenko play all singles rubbers.
Tarpishev apparently refused to name an alternate, but Safin's team says he's going to Buenos Aires.

Ah, it's a lost cause anyway.

I see Ancic is on the Croatian team
