my heart skipped just a tiny beat when i saw "Navratilova" in the draw. Oh, yeah... they mean Gabriela.

Not too many interesting new pairs for the women, but i like the look of Hantuchova and Davenport as a team. Have they played together before?

Hantuchova and Davenport played in New Haven (And a few times before that, including the Australian). They lost in the QF to Voskoboeva/Rodionova, the powerhouse team that won one game in the SF vs. Raymond/Peschke. I think Hantuchova/Davenport would have had a better chance winning their QF if Hantuchova hadn't shown for the match.

But as crummy as she was in her New Haven doubles, she probably looked worse in the three games I saw of her loss to Groenefeld yesterday at the USO.

Let's just say the Melbourne version of Dani is a distant memory.

Never say never. Before Melbourne many folks here would have sworn that there will be snowstorm in hell before Dani reaches GS SF....

She's playing with Mike. Bob is not in the draw. Since mixed teams are often last-minute decisions, I wonder if a coin flip was involved?

Actually, I bet Max will have a calming effect on Anna... She might learn some things from him; that is, if they were going to get to play more than one match together, which they won't.

If they get scheduled while I'm there, I'm there no matter who else is playing at the same time, and I'm there for all of it.
