You will get some entertaining matches tomorrow which should be 100% better than Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday line up put together. |

Way too many really cool matches. It'll be impossible to take it all in. And so many slated to take place late in the day... You've got two great matches already set up on Ashe for late-night, but several other good ones could go late... Robredo/Safin, Moya/Tsonga Jankovic/Verdasco in doubles, not to mention Chaks/Mirnyi and Petrova/Bjorkman. All of those are likely to be happening at the same time. It's totally cruel. |

LOL. Hawt. Just went over the day's schedule with Dolphins. After several heated exchanges, I think we were able to meet each other half way, at least to some degree, on tomorrow's schedule. We'll start at Zheng/Jankovic on Ashe. When that's over, we'll try to catch the end of Reynolds/Gonzo on Armstrong. After that, then it gets extremely tricky. Dolphins has Na Li and Verdasco in the pools, so he wants to see those matches, except they're both up at #2 on their respective courts. I absolutely MUST see the Paszeks play doubles (no pun intended) on Court 8. Given the matches before them on the respective courts, I think we'll high-tail it to Venus' booksigning after Gonzo, then off to Court 8 for the Paszeks, and then try to catch the ends of Li/Makarova and Verdasco/Machado. But we may not make it to Li's match, which would be unfortunate. Doesn't look like we'll catch any of Cilic/Ginepri. Which is a bummer. Then it's back to Ashe for Kendrick/Djokovic, which I hope is a total blowout so we can catch all of Azarenka/Wozniacki on Grandstand. We also need lots of blowouts on Court 4 so that we can catch Jankovic/Verdasco is doubles against Srebotnik/Zimonjic. But I have to keep tabs on Armstrong because I missed Marat last year, and that's not happening again... And then there's my Court 10 problem, because I'm not missing Chaks/Mirnyi in mixed doubles against Petrova/Bjorkman. Which, unfortunately, could be about the same time as when Lindsay takes the court to start off the night session on Ashe. I can't miss her, either. This may well be her last U.S. Open. Could be for Max, too, so I'm just so torn... I predict a horrible afternoon/early evening in terms of missed must-see matches. I'm optimistic that, after Gulbis smacks the crap out of Roddick, we might be able to catch some Moya/Tsonga. But it just depends on how the schedules unfold throughout the day. I may actually have something to see on Armstrong, Court 4 or Court 10. Oh, and Dolphins forgot the attachment for his camera to download pics to the PC. I could just about kill him. I only forgot my prescription sunglasses, so I think that clearly makes him the bigger dipshit... So far. |

Is everyone making such elaborate plans before going? I feel so inadequate.... |

Is everyone making such elaborate plans before going? I feel so inadequate.... You can plan til the cows come home, but as dry said, one five-setter (or withdrawal, retirement, injury timeout, etc) will change the best laid plans. |

I take a more flexible approach... Look at which matches might interest me, but then play it by ear once I'm there. If a match that I had interest in going to is at 6-0, 4-1, I'll take a pass. If a match I hadn't planned on attending looks like it will head to a third (or fifth) set, I'll try to get there. I think tomorrow, for some, might be a nice day to camp out at Grandstand all day. They may not finish until well after midnight. I'm just not all that interested in who's playing on that court except perhaps for the last two matches. But it could still be dynamite tennis on Grandstand all day. |
