Anyone hear about Youzhny having a high fever and pulling out of the Open?

Dinara looks nice in pink.

I'm already more impressed with Ahn than Vandeweghe last night. Wonder if she'll be able to hang in these long rallies with Safina for long enough to matter.

Already 2 DF's for Dinara, but one ace, too!

Seeing Ahn playing Safina reminds me of when Dinara played Serena at the US when Dinara was still a kid. My how she has improved over the years.

Yeah, I didn't think much of Vendeweghe at all, I have to say. Tracy Austin kept talking about her huge game, but all I saw were loopy forehands, mediocre movement, and pretty bad court positioning. If I'm Lauren Albanese or Madison Brengle, I think I'd be pissed that I didn't get that wild card.

Dinara's hold there (after being down 15-40, and successfully challenging on one of the break points) may be the difference between a routine 6-1 set for the #6 seed, and all kinds of trouble from a pumped-up, confident teen.

Ahn is younger than Coco and unlike her she earned her place by going through qualies. I've never seen her play, though.

I can now say 6-3, with confidence.

Kristie needs to figure out not to hit her 2nd serve to Dinara's backhand, but I'm impressed that she held when she was down 2-5.

Ana's up 5-0!

And I like the skirt she has on MUCH better than that tulip/scalloped edge thing they were promoting.

That is indeed a sharp tennis outfit, Scotty. That's something you can see women going into a store and asking for. Some of the tennis fashion show we've been getting at Slams lately are nice on the player, and make for fun commentary, but you'd just never imagine it being available in a sporting goods store.

Why did I choose Szavay? She is not dependable. She's a mess.

Querrey is burning through Berdych. I very nearly picked him in the SP, but I chickened out.
