You're th reason I posted it, Charlie.

Well that, and the fact that she tips Jelena over Ana. She's one of the few people I ever remembering reading who thought Jelena had the bigger up side.
Unfortunately for them, Jelena and Nadia also share a humongous downside. It's above their shoulders (and, to symbolize this, they both have extra-large heads)

I don't see her back to 10. And Jelena doesn't have more upside than Ana, although her game is definitely more pleasing on the eyes.
Thanks I thought I was the only one here. I actually had a good laugh, then again Jelena probably smiled at her more so she tipped her.

I do think though that Nadia can make the top 10 again. Jeez, if Dani and Marion can do it, why not Nadia?

Venus after Wimbledon next year. Also Vera around April or May of next year. She had a blistering start to 2008 and has petered out since.
Disagree, since the WTA is all about playing rather than winning, she just need to do well enough in the main events. And while she does not play a lot Venus had done remarkably well, even though Wimby was a boost, and had not dropped much in the rankings. I see others dropping out before I would pick Venus, unless of course she's injured.

Anyway she was also suppose to drop out at Wimby so...

Really? One other semifinal besides Wimbledon is doing remarkably well? She had a good result in Australia and respectable results at Miami and Rome but nothing strong. And she has her SF points at the USO to defend and a 280 points of fall tournies from last year to defend. Others might fall out before her but unless she performs at Wimbledon again she will need to pick it up outside of the slams

Doing remarkably well in staying in the top 10 and whether it's one semis besides Wimbledon it's still enough to keep her there unlike some others who lose 1r, 2r or 3r and are not thate anymore. And it's not like she's played a whole heap of tournament this year, in fact only 8 with 3 losses before the Qf.

And it's not like it's impossible for her to stay there if she's healthy and make respectable showing. We're not talking about a Marion or some other happen to by chance player to reach the top ten but a 7 Grand Slam champion.

And I agree she will need to play well to maintain it, but it's not like it's impossible, that's all I'm saying. All she need to do is remain healthy and make respectable showing.

Well OF COURSE you would disagree!

That's all?

I think Venus will finish outside the top 10 next year because I just don't see her being healthy enough to play consistently, and I don't think she'll repeat at Wimbledon. 40% of her points are from Wimbledon. If she had lost in the semis she wouldn't be in the top 10 now.

Wasn't it last year in the one interview she talked about tossing it all aside and just going fishing?
I remember that and was worried I wouldn't get to see her much longer. I'm thrilled she's found her drive again and while she might not reach her previous heights, she can still put together a decent run at a tourny.

YOU GO GIRL!!!

Yep always

That's all?

Isn't that what everyone is doing? Tell me who other than Dinara, Maria, and Serena in the present crop of top 10 players won more than 2 tournaments all year?

All I'm saying is any top player if they remain healthy and not have to consistently stop and start because of injury can do well. Funny how it's good for everyone else but not for Venus.

Fair that's how you see it and that's your right. I also remember people saying that she would not defend Wimby this year and she did it. So since we don't know the future I'll wait and see. If it happens it happens, if not well so be it. Still I stand by my belief that it's not impossible. That's all I'm saying.
