Anyone know anything definitive on Safin? First I hear toe, then flu, now I'm seeing stress fracture in the right leg on tennis.com.

His official site says he tore a ligament in in his calf, and that he had a fever. Says he is doing much better now, and he is supposed to play in Memphis.

He has a torn ligament but it's healing. He also caught the flu and spent Saturday and Sunday watching lying down in the locker room (Where's Pamchenko when you need her? I have a perfect quote to caption her avatar)

As Kayce said, the site says he's flying straight to Memphis on Feb 15, skipping San Jose

This board will serve to update us regarding tournament and match withdrawals, retirements, walkovers, etc.

If you know of a player becoming injured and/or withdrawing from something, post it here I'm sure there are a few players who were eagerly awaiting it to open this year already
