I remember when Roger played Rafa in their first Wimbledon final in 2006 and was asked about the importance of the match, he said that this match would determine who is the best player in the world, nevermind the ranking. If he would lose (or would have lost, dont remember if it was before or after the match...), he wouldnt deserve to be called the number one.
IMO that's even more true this season. When he won the Wimbledon final, Rafa proved he is the best player in the world right now- and finally the ranking is catching up with this fact. Congrats to him and his fans.

Yeah it hurts that Roger is stinking up the joint, while Rafa is playing like a man on a mission. Still it's great to see him finally capture the #1 ranking and having another impressive year.
