Somewhat ironic that Federer finally gets his cover for a match he lost.

Thanks Jack! First thought that came to my mind. It seems brilliance is only rewarded when it doesn't look easy

Let it be known that I had said to my man right after the Wimbledon final, watch, THIS will be what gets on the SI cover. KNEW they'd put Nadal on. Perhaps I should be shocked that Rog is there, too. Five Wimbledon titles and the other Slam titles ain't enough apparently. (Not to mention, no Venus/Serena on the cover, of course.)

I know, WOO HOO for tennis coverage and all. Still, all I gotta say is- .

Oh geeze I`ve started another Roger cryfest

If the SI Jinx holds, then look at Nole as the US Open favorite!

His brilliance is the reason that his defeat was such an epic match. It's really a complement when you think about it. I hope someone gets a ton of press someday for beating me in a tennis match.

You say that now but you'll be singing a different tune when I make the cover of SI and ESPN the Magazine for denying you your 7th Wimbledon in 2015.

Is it too late for me to sell my first child so I can do that? Is Rumplestiltskin still around? Rumpy! I promise I don't know your name!

I often fantasize about winning Wimbledon. Something I figured I'd grow out of at some point...but nope.

I fantasized about it too, but all my fantasies involved that old scoreboard, now gone forever.

Clearly my delusional window of opportunity has closed completely .

And that you can't even see his face.

You know, maybe there should be a thread for us to recount where we were during that match and what we did afterward - like how people remember where they were when Kennedy was shot.

Personally, I was rooting for Federer and couldn't even watch the third and fourth sets. My DVR recording ran out about midway through the fourth, much to my horror (actually it hadn't run out, but it appeared to have) so I switched to live TV (it's 4 pm at this point) and was amazed to see that the match was still on with Roger up 7-6 in the fifth.

We went out to dinner to cheer me up... only we chose a sports bar, plastered with images of Nadal biting the trophey on giant TVs.

My daughter and I sat on the couch, in the same positions, for the entire match. Thank goodness for rain delays!
At the end we were holding hands. She almost broke my eardrums with her screams of joy. I'll always remember that.

Are you insulting Roger, or simply referring to that sliver of his left cheek?
