Default It's the trendy pick and all
but I just don't see Rafa beating Federer on Sunday.

Nobody seemed to notice because it was all too rogerlike today, but he made only 6 unforced errors during the match. And had 15 aces.

He's looking his old dominant self. His Wimbledon self.

I don't think anyone would be surprised if Fed won. But this potential final will for sure get better ratings than the French. Less of a foregone conclusion with lots at stake.

Rafa's not exactly throwing in a lot of errors today either and his serve is already known to bug Roger. I say it's going to be a battle and I still see it as 50-50 right now.

I do.
This is very sudden, Moose. And I don't think either one of us lives in California or Massachusetts. I don't know what to say...

To me this is playing like the '07 FO. Roger was playing well that clay season, he had just beaten Nadal in Hamburg, and everyone and their brother (especially Fed fans) liked their chances against Nadal in the Roland Garros final. Rafa beat him handily.

But really, other than Federer beating Nadal, who wasn't really trying that much, in Hamburg, there was little evidence that suggested he could pull the upset in the final. Yet the buzz was there, and I have the feeling it was more due to the fact that the Fed fans wanted him to win more than the actual possibilities he had.

I see more of the same right now.

We'll see on Sunday

Hey. We'll tell everyone we're registered at Williams/Sonoma, and split the booty. I was eyeing up an awesome breadmaker there last week, so you get next pick.

I picked the breadmaker, so I'm gonna give my fiance Munchin first dibs on the booty.

Are you sure that's the "booty" Dry was referring to?

We are on the 3rd set in the Nadal / Murray match....only 6 UE's for Nadal....

I say...Nadal is on par to take Roger out on grass...

I've had my eye on those Melamine mixing bowls. This was definitely a great idea.

In general, I get the feeling that's more of a collective hope than a reasoned forecast.

What's unclear? Is this thread not about Nadal's "famous ass?"

No hope. I predicted Nadal to win Wimby this year in a heated 5 setter with Roger Federer....

It has....nothing to do with hope and everything to do with the way Rafael has been playing on grass. He is primed to win the Wimbledon Championship.

If this were a hardcourt...I'd say...we can take for granted a Federer win over Nadal....

If you change "Nadal" for "Federer", "Wimby" or "Wimbledon" for "the French Open", and "grass" for "clay", you sound just like myself on early June, 2007.

How wrong was I.

HAHAHAHAHAHA You said Fed would beat Nadal on CLAY? LMBO!!

But seriously Morancito....I don't think this is or was Fed's chance to win French. Not yet. But....

Nadal is ripe to tear those grass courts up with Fed and finally win Wimbledon.

I said Fed would beat Nadal on clay in 2007. Not this year. I actually think, barring a Nadal injury, that was his last chance.

I believe that for the next 2 - 3 years, Wimbledon will still be Federer's tournament to lose. That includes this year.

We'll see on Sunday.
