Default SI Fires Gimelstob!
from Jon's 50 things Wimbledon recap:

• I was absolutely bombarded with e-mail pertaining to L'Affaire Gimelstob. If you check out the SI.com tennis page you can see that my bosses have addressed the situation.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....things/1.html

when you go to the Tennis home page, every reference to Justin is long gone.

I was looking for an apology statement. I guess they made a much BIGGER statement. Good for them! This almost makes up for SI not naming Federer Sportsman of the Year when they had the chance.

Well, well, well. Good work SI.

Too bad we can't do a damn thing about his being on the ATP board.

Who says we can't?

And I haven't given up on Tennis Channel, yet. I hope others won't give up, either.

I wish SI.com would put out a statement of some kind.

I know what you mean, but any trace of Gimelstob vanishing overnight is not a bad statement as is

I'm glad SI listened to their readers. I hope the Tennis Channel listens to their viewers and fires him as well.

Good for SI for for seeing an unfunny, blowhard of a bad writer for what he is, and ceasing to pay him or associate with him. They've got much better and classier writers, so I'm glad to hear they're sticking with quality.

Well I am proud of all the squeaky wheels in this case. Justin needed a whole vat of piping hot grease poured all over him.
