Doesn't it just seem like Safin has been around a lot longer?
Probably because Marat was an earlier bloomer. He's probably been on the radar longer than the age difference.
Anyone know all of these guys off the tops of their head? Is Marat the lowest achieving of the bunch (in terms of GS wins)? I feel like Rafter's done this too.
I love these trivia questions! I haven't read the whole thread yet. Hmm...
Obviously Federer.
Djokovic, Nalbandian, Safin now.
Um... what about Grosjean? Maybe? I don't think Hewitt ever made the semis of the French.

Grosjean has made the semis of the Australian, the French, and Wimbledon (twice!), but has never made it past the third round at the US Open. Strange.

Hewitt has made two quarterfinals at the French. RU at Australia and Winner of the other two.

I was thinking of the open era (I'm a broad thinker ) I'm hard pressed to think of anyone who's done this and actually accomplished less than Nalbandian. Sad. Maybe Miroslav Mecir? Arguable.

I think Marat peaked in the Seppi match, stayed at that level in handling Stan, then slipped vs Lopez. My feeling is that Lopez was on his way to winning that match, but Safin didn't fold and Lopez couldn't handle the pressure of winning it on his racquet. But Marat didn't play as well then. I am not sure that he will lift his game enough to take Roger today, but he will get a set early before Roger gets his spot in the finals.

Crap!

Talk about a little faith!

Marat in five

I'm going all out with this one. Marat please....your best is enough to beat Federer. Just bring your best and forget about the rest including all the unfaithful unbelievers on this board.

All you have to do is....get inside of Fed's head before he gets inside of yours. Thats all. Point for point and serve for serve you can hang in there and bring it to the tiebreak where you will have a lucky netcord to help you out!
