Default American Jihadists arrested at JFK
Americans who want to murder their fellow Americans. Sick.

New York (CNN) -- Two New Jersey men arrested at a New York airport were charged in a federal criminal complaint with conspiring to kill, maim and kidnap people outside the United States, officials said Sunday.

Mohamed Mahmoud Alessa, 20, of North Bergen, New Jersey, and Carlos Eduardo Almonte, 24, of Elmwood Park, New Jersey, were taken into custody Saturday at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The two intended to take separate flights to Egypt on their way to Somalia "to join designated foreign terrorist organization al-Shabaab and wage violent jihad," federal prosecutors said in a statement...

"The defendants also discussed their obligation to wage violent jihad and at times expressed a willingness to commit acts of violence in the United States," prosecutors said.

On April 25, for instance, Almonte said "that there would soon only be American troops in Somalia, which was good because it would not be as gratifying to kill only Africans," according to prosecutors.

The two men also watched and played for the undercover officer "numerous video and audio recordings" promoting jihad, including lectures by fugitive American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and videos showing attacks by al-Shabaab.

The two are scheduled to appear Monday before a U.S. magistrate judge, prosecutors said. If convicted, each faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. source: http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/06/06/...ex.html?hpt=T1
