German Islamist fanatics jailed for planning 'second September 11'

Four Muslim fanatics who planned "bloodbaths" at US targets in Germany in an attempt to create a "second September 11" have been jailed.

Fritz Gelowicz, the ring leader, got 12 years, his German sidekick Daniel Schneider - both converts to Islam - 11 years while two accomplices were sentenced to five years each for their roles in a plot to detonate explosives 100 times more powerful than those used in the London Underground bombings of July 2005.

The four men, known as the "Sauerland Cell" after the tourist region where they stockpiled massive amounts of chemicals for the bombs, were jailed at the end of a nine-month trial.

In a rare move, prosecutors allowed them to plea-bargain their guilt in return for what the defendants hoped would be far shorter sentences. ………………..

All have given detailed accounts of their terrorist training at a camp in Pakistan's "bandit country" of Waziristan together with details of the US bases that they planned to blitz with their home-made devices for the Islamic Jihadist Union. ………………..

"The confessions of the accused were the most comprehensive talks concerning terrorism ever heard in a German court of law," said Rolf Tophoven, director of the institute of terrorism research and security policy in Essen.

Why Pakistanis are more Muslim than thou

The contradictions of Persians in relation to Islam and Arabs have always perplexed me, and my Persian American friends have never been able to unpack the sentiments coherently. On the one hand Persians are resolutely Muslim, have been by and large for over 1,000 years. Their script is derived from Arabic, Farsi has been strongly influenced by Arabic, and many Persians have names of Arabic provenance. Muhammad, Ali and Husayn were Arabs. On the other hand, Persians are often racist against Arabs, something which takes concrete form against Iranian Arabs. As far back as Ferdowsi's Shahnameh you see Muslim Persians looking back to a glorious past, and bemoaning their cultural enslavement by barbaric bedouins


When it comes to the Islamic regime's ambivalence, and on occasion outright hostility, toward the glories of pre-Islamic Iran, the authorities need to tread a fine line. The Persians may be Muslims, and have synthesized their culture with Islam so that the religion is part & parcel of a modern Persian identity, but they also retain their ethnic-national identity as distinct from the Arabs, and later Turks, who ruled them. The customs, traditions and physical monuments from pre-Islamic Iran are witness to the concrete aspects of Persian identity which are prior, or independent of, Islam. Read on....

Pakistani cuisine, language and physique all point toward the affinity with India. If Indians magically became Muslim then I assume Pakistanis would look at their indisputable South Asianness, and take pride in those aspects which mark them as a more antique civilized people than the Arabs who gave them their religion. But as it is Indians are witness to that ancient history, claim it as their own, respect the Vedas not as documents of historical interest but of contemporary piety. Everything mentioned above is wrong!

Pakistanis are of central asian descent with Arab, Persian, Turkish blood in that order, the final touches were given by the caucasians and neanderthals. In fact, Alexander once commented about how beautiful the Pakistani men were compared to the dark Hindoos to the east.

It is high time Yindoos get over our inferiority complex and stop dreaming about being the same race as the obviously superior Pakistanis.

These so called Terrorists are born from thin air without any Local, family, School (Madrassa) support. Who are those who interpret Islam? Its not Me or a Joo!

Even then there are protests to save people like "Aafia Siddiqui" & "Stop the Crusade in Iraq & Afghanistan"

I am sure you will agree that even you will be against terrorists, who behead, kidnap or take ransom in the name of Allah. Are they true Muslim? If not, then America is right to go against them and it is unfortunate that most of these terrorist live in Muslim countries.

The issue is the challenge that the Wahhabis, having usurped the mantle of Islam, have on the world, which is combating terrorism that the Wahhabis have unleashed!

The problem is that because there has been no strong reaction from within the world Islamic community, the Wahhabis are reigning unabated.

The Wahhabis have started taking on the Islamic world too.

So, all have to put their heads together and find ways how to win the soul of Islam!
