Did anyone here see Gangs of New York? There's nothing new under the sun. Then they were saying "let in the Irish, and the whole republic is going to Hell". Then "the yellow man is a danger to democracy, send back the Chinee". Later it was "let in the Italians and America will fail". Then it was "let in the Slavs and we may as well give up". Somehow the resentment is always the same and so is the proferred solution. And yes, we have been home to anarchists, communists, religious extremists and terrorists of varying ilk, but America always muddles through. It disadvantages the one group not entitled to recognition or funding: Native white Britains. Figures released today show that poor white boys and girls are now the lowest school achievers, while diversity is celebrated in schools, any celebration of British culture is regarded as racist. The Know Nothing movement was a nativistAmerican political movement of the 1840s and 1850s. It was empowered by popular fears that the country was being overwhelmed by Irish Catholicimmigrants, who were often regarded as hostile to U.S. values and controlled by the Pope in Rome. Mainly active from 1854 to 1856, it strove to curb immigration and naturalization, though its efforts met with little success. There were few prominent leaders, and the largely middle-class and entirely Protestant membership fragmented over the issue of slavery. Most ended up joining the Republican Party by the time of the 1860 presidential election.[1][2] "There's a little village in Ireland where my great-great-great grandfather came from and I'm looking forward to going there and having a pint." None of those groups set out to conquer the country for their own religion or wish to replace it's constitution. Apart from that I doubt you even know what multiculturalism means. It does not mean as in the US diversity co-exists. It means people are paid taxpayers money to remain seperate and unintegrated. Such a swamp breeds hostility to other communities and in the case of pre-disposed Islam; terrorism and the intention to make Britain and Europe into Islamic states. ![]() Could you elaborate, Maven? Thanks in advance. |
