And please, don't get me started on the Israeli government! For sure, I didn't vote for them.
Neither you, nor anybody else voted for most of them. Israel has 12 elected officials in its whole government.

Although as a former Marine I (and every other Marine) will always have a deep hatred for Hezbollah, ( hatred for Hezbollah, not the Lebanese), because of the cowardly attack on the Marine Barracks in 83, I and most Americans are, I think, willing to let bygones be bygones...unless
Hezbollah starts attacking American interests and Americans, then all bets are off.

The IDF is quite capable of handling Hezbollah, so for now their is no reason to interfere other then to back (politically), the Democratically elected Sinora Govt.

I think that fighting Hezbollah requires refined tactics. Israel cannot fight Hezbollah with tanks and artillery alone. Seasoned commandoes like the Sayeret Matkal should lead the fight in any future fight with Hezbollah. i was alarmed to read that Iranians have supplied an array of anti-tank missiles to hit Israeli armored forces. Isn't it the job of snipers to take these missile teams out so that tanks can attack concentrations of Hezbollah fighters or bunkers.
The reported presence of Iran suppleied Zelzal ballistic rockets with range of upto 200 meters (correct me if I am wrong) could reach Israeli cities in the interior. Such targets should be slammed by Israeli combat aircraft.

Spec Ops units are almost always the most effective in fighting terrorist/insurgent groups.

They have the specialized training and expertise to think like and counter the
tactics terrorists and guerilla/insurgents use.

This has been true for us in Afghanistan and Iraq. Al Qaeda in particular, has been severly damaged in both places, due to the use of Special Forces and top level counter-terrorist, hunter/killer units, like Delta, Seal 6 and the CIA's Paramilitary units.

Sadly, the insurgency, Taliban and militias have grown during that time, to a point where even killing or capturing hundreds per month isn't really helping.

The best way to tackle Hezbollah is through surgical strikes, and targeted killings by Israeli Special Forces units, and Mossad teams.

Default Hezbollah considering attacking US targets abroad.
Although Hezbollah is very Anti-American, i doubt that they want or are even capable of attacking americans now (as long as American forces aren't present in Lebanon).

In an interview the General-Secretary of Hezbollah said that their main enemy is Israel, and that they hate america for supporting Israel, but don't intend to attack America.

But the question here in Lebanon is : What is Hezbollah gonna do if America attacks Iran ?

Iran has clearly stated in the past that if it is attacked, it will retaliate with Hezbollah, which means another Hezbo-Israeli War.....
