Default Afghan Cover-up?
Not a good week to be a US Army press officer -

Killings of Civilians in Afghanistan: US Special Forces Covered Up Massacre

Surely at least some of this can't be true...surely

Not a cover-up at all. There was a group of armed men. Some had RPGs(3) and they were taken out. Those reporters were with that group. The van blown up was unmarked. If it had been marked with a red cross it would have been spared. As it was the gunners thought it could have been a vehicle used by the terrorists to transport themselves and equipment.

I love the way the leftist media tries to make the US military look bad at every opportunity.

You realize how big of a no-no it is to mark ANYTHING that isn't an IRC item with a red cross, right?

(And with really fucking good reason.)

What is a bigger "no-no", being sued by the fucking red cross for copyright infringement, or being shot all to hell for driving into a battle in an unmarked vehicle?

Do you mean Global Reaserach California?...who are they...a lefty lobying group?...never heard of them before...but there are plenty of other sources, this was just top of the google search

I actual stumbled upon this story while watching the Alyona Show...the joint founder of Wikileaks was giving an interview and the next story was this one..seems to say all the same things as the web page...but then again I'm not really sure who Alyona is either.

Those were Reuters reporters. Apparently working with terrorists. I'd check whatever they've been writing to see if it's fair and balanced or obvious propaganda. Most of the 'news' I see from Reuters and the AP seems heavily slanted towards the enemy. I hope the CIA is all over this. But then I have mine own axe to grind.

Hello Axegrinder...what story are you refering to here? This thread relates to an incident in Afghanistan that involved NATO special forces assualting a farm house and apparently killing a police chief, his brother, who was a state legislator, and three female relatives...The Reuter reporter story is elsewhere...but please stay and discuss this if you want

Yes I do and for that reason it was legal to shoot the van. Ans since it is a NO NO why is the left crying about the van being hit? Are the gunners supposed to have X-ray vision and be able to see who is in it?

If the TV or news crew was using it, the van, why didn't they mark the van or their vehicle with TV or PRESS. I have seen photos of such cars. Those are not targeted.

Bottom line: it was a perfectly legal action. Sad that some innocents were caught up in it but nothing was done wrong.

Donkey, they're not talking about an IRC vehicle. Miltary medical vehicles are marked with red crosses. Look at your everage ambulance marked with them.
