AI may be an "issue" to you for some ideological reason(s). But they are not the issue here. Trying to make them the issue here is red herring. Amnesty Int'l redefines 'war crimes' | Jerusalem Post "Human rights´ Groups such as Amnesty International are Part of the Problem, not the Solution" |

This idea that Obama is Bush's third term was predicted by the WSJ - amazing. God I hate yuppies!
![]() Bush's Third Term, JULY 2, 2008 ![]() "We're beginning to understand why Barack Obama keeps protesting so vigorously against the prospect of "George Bush's third term." Maybe he's worried that someone will notice that he's the candidate who's running for it. Most Presidential candidates adapt their message after they win their party nomination, but Mr. Obama isn't merely "running to the center." He's fleeing from many of his primary positions so markedly and so rapidly that he's embracing a sizable chunk of President Bush's policy. Who would have thought that a Democrat would rehabilitate the much-maligned Bush agenda?" Bush's Third Term - WSJ.com Then the progressives, post facto: thank you! Bush's Third Term? You're Living It by David Swanson It sounds like the plot for the latest summer horror movie. Imagine, for a moment, that George W. Bush had been allowed a third term as president... There is no objective reason why anyone should believe denials by the American government regarding inhumane treatment of prisoners. The unwillingness to allow AI to have access, while not definitively demonstrating American guilt, certainly does not bolster the crediblilty (if any) of any such denials. Do you know what happens to US soldiers if they're captured by terrorists or any extremists nation for that matter??? Yet you point fucking fingers at the US????? Whats your agenda? IF you really gave a fuck about people you would start with other more severe fucked up situations that are currently happening rather then defend barbarian terrorists. For fucks sake the fucking terrorists in custody are treated a hell of a lot better then your average 'Joe' who is doing time for some pot. |

Everyone tortures. The Americans do it, the Brits do it, the Iranians do it, the Canadians do it, the Chinese do it, the Arabs do it, the Israelis do it, the UN does it...they all do it. The torture threads are really among the most boring and pointless we have here. It's called the Rule of Law. You wouldn't get it. |

You guys realize that we on the right are laughing our heads off at both the irony and that your heads are exploding, right? Maybe then Cheney can learn about about extreme temperatures, hanging from the ceiling, and the pulling of arms out of the sockets, (and these kinds of things) ... A sort of supermax for NeoCons, whad'ya think, fair ??? ![]() |

I'm really beginning to think that when you become POTUS, it's like that show or that movie, I can't remember, where the new president on day one gets sat down in the Situation Room, they show him a bunch of footage of JFK's assassination from angles we've never been privy to see, and they basically say, "go against us and that'll happen to you".
I swear that's gotta be what's going on in America today, because it's leaders are infected with the ridiculous notion that they can somehow fix the world using force. That they can win in Afghanistan not through political accomodations but by scapegoating all that responsibility onto the troops. What a wrongheaded move Obama is making to add 40,000 more there. We're just saving face. But it's like he really believes that it can be "won". |

You guys realize that we on the right are laughing our heads off at both the irony and that your heads are exploding, right? This reflects on the United States (not "conservative" or "liberal" but the country as a whole) and it's credibility. If it turns out that torture has continued under Mr. Obama despite his renunciation, then the world will have more reason to distrust the United States. |

This is not a "liberal" or "conservative" issue. This is an American issue. The question is; are people being tortured by the United States after the current President has publicly renounced such activity? ![]() . |

You realize regardless of the fake polls created by
the Big Brother press - (Ministry of Truth) that Afghanistan is hugely unpopular and the American people don't want it. Its necessity is manfactured by 24 hour terror scare CNN and the like. Those are not the Taliban or enemies of America your bombs are killing there. They are tribes indigenous to the region and free sovereign peoples no matter what the U.S. puppet regime says... |

We all told you guys he was posing as an alpha male. Welcome to the party. But this can't be happening anyway. Obama got the Peace Prize. ![]() It is possible that there is no torture being committed by Americans, but the resistance to full disclosure can contribute to those weary of American violations of human rights (and this includes those Americans who actually respect human rights) to be even more convinced that the United States is trying to hide even more wrongdoing. The best thing for America to do to "clean up it's image" is to "clean up it's act." But it should "clean up it's act" because it is the right thing to do not because it will "clean up it's image." |
