FBI officials and law enforcement officers are not politicians. Sure they might have leanings when off duty but their jobs do not change with each administration (except for the heads of the FBI and CIA). Please stop with the partisan bantering.
What the fuck are you blabbering on about?

I aid nothing about the FBI or law enforcement officers.

Our government lies to us Danny. Anyone who thinks is otherwise is pathetically naive.

Your government lies to you, too...

The Question really should be

When Has the Government NOT Lied to us?

And not just with in the last 5 years, or the last 10, but for the last 200 years?

Along with not just the American Government but any government on the planet?

And that, I suppose, begs the question, 'when have the American people not swallowed any and evrything our government has shoved down our throats?'

You know, I had a college professor pull that one out of the hat. I don't even remember the question, but it was something about not taking crap off the government. Some young know it all student piped up and said the American people wouldn't put up with that shit. That's when the prof asked when in the history of this country the American people have NOT swallowed everything that has been shoved down our throats. It got real quiet!

Sadly when one looks at the major stores going back over the history of the country there are lies after lies.

Even before we where a country the lies that where going around to gain the backing of the people for one thing or another.

The anti-war movement would be an example of people not swallowing the government line.

Seriously Mr. Ron Smith, how stupid do you think the American public is?
Very.

And he's right, too.

With some exceptions, they're forced to go to government-run schools, so what else can you expect from them as a whole?

That is where one goes to the Public schools one reads and reads out side of the normal line..

An example.. How many know just how close we came to getting our butts handed to us on D-Day? and just how much of a F.U.B.A.R. the air drops where that morning?

Does one get that with the teachings in the schools? or by reading out side?

If our government lies (more often than they are honest), why does anybody join the armed forces and die abroad for a lie?

If both the dems and reps lie all the time, why dont people vote for the libertarian party, or another?

Its easy for you to complain, why dont you vote for a diffrernt party?
I think the public accepts the lies because the public is inept.

The gov't is only a reflection of us. So asking "Does the gov't lie?" is a false question.

The real question is why we don't care so much to hear the truth of things.

In America, the public is treated like children, but moreover, they behave like children, so it's a vicious cycle.

The public in America elects their representatives, and then most people just go away and tuck their heads neatly up their asses for 4 years, and then every 4 years people are SHOCKED! SHOCKED! by all the bamboozling that goes on from the gov't to it's people.

I don't really know what the guy's conclusions really are in the OP. Is he saying that American authorities are complicit in purposefully letting a known terrorist who is on our watch list to board the plane with a bomb?

Or is he trying to say that US officials are comfortable hiding the truth?

I vote for the second question.

The gov't is much more comfortable at hiding the truth. Or spinning it, the way they constantly do when they try to make us believe that terrorists are trying to get us in the west because, you know, we're free and women go to work, and we have McDonald's and Coors Light.

They try to make us believe that they're out to get us because of jealousy, when in reality their grievances have everything to do with our support of Israel, and then with all the warmongering we promote all over the Middle East, propping up dictators who are oppressive, or messing around in a couple different countries with trying to install democracies without ever teaching these people how a democracy actually works.

We've been sending drones over Yemen and supporting that dictator, messing around in yet another country we don't understand, and then the xmas bombing happened in retaliation of that.

So yeah, the US gov't lies for sure, but the public is just too stupid to ask their own questions or to look at what's really going on over there; they just believe everything Big Brother says, despite the complaints about Big Brother all the time.

If politicans all lie, then why do mistrust intelligent ones like former President Clinton or Al Gore?

I believe that George W.Bush went to Harward or Princton, but he didnt sound very inteligent during his campaigne and he beat Gore.

My point is that if you want to be elected you have to pretend to be like Archie Bunker or Joe Blow to get elected.

Therefore the americans deserve the government that they elect.
Did Obama act like Archie Bunker, or Job Blow?

Or are you just spewing inanities again?

Im surprised this question was even asked! If the govt specially the military has a NEED TO KNOW policy we know the govt doesnt tell us the truth even when asked directly.

Remember WMD in Iraq...well it didnt have any!
Remember asking Bush, do we torture prisoners he said no and we know we did/do.
Remember the great economic crisis and the bank/corporate bail outs at the tax payer's expense, Did the govt tell is corporate behaviour/speculation nearly bankrupted the govt, NO!

Taking from a hollywood movie line...."You can't handle the truth!" Its not that we wont be able to always handle the true, its that we wouldnt have supported most govt policies had we been well informed and the govt cant let us know or the world know when they are up to no good!

Our government is controlled by Democrats.

Asking, therefore, if the government lies to us is akin to asking if water is wet...
It's pleasing to know therefore that Republican politicians never lie.....
