I just went and searched Google for like 3 minutes and I was easily able to find numerous articles about Muslims standing up against the Jihad.

Just because you haven't looked for it, or don't know how to find it, doesn't mean it's not there.

You're assuming that Jihad bil Saif (Struggle by the Sword) is the only form of Jihad.

It's not.

Jihad al Nafs, or the Struggle against the Self, is the greater form of Jihad and is essentially the same as the Christian notion of struggling against the temptations of sin.

(Note: Calling Jihad al Nafs "the greater struggle" isn't my idea, the concept of "greater" and "lesser" Jihad originated hundreds of years ago by Mohamad's inner circle.)
