How quickly we forget Rumsfield tried to rename the GWOT to Struggle Against Global Extremism (SAGE). That lasted all but a week.

How quickly we forget Rumsfield tried to rename the GWOT to Struggle Against Global Extremism (SAGE). That lasted all but a week.

It was actually the "Global Struggle against Violent Extremism" then quickly replaced by the "Long War." Neither of which supplanted the "Global War on TerrorISM," not Terror. Sorry, pet peeve.

My understanding is that Muslim extremist leaders approve of the name change...which is nice. They correctly assumed that the GWoT was directed at them and they were getting picked on by our racist forces. Now they can get back to the business of suicide bombings, hijackings, and beheadings without being singled out.
