Rush did it again:
http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/entert...104405604.html It may be his "right" to call the president anything he likes, but this is a childish example of simple name calling with no real basis. Maybe he is just afraid that he wont be able to afford his Oxy anymore if he gets taxed more over $250K/yr.... |

A thread about Rush Limbaugh calling the President a "jackass".
And? Is this unexpected? Does any one care? ---- Fromthe article linked: "Is it appropriate for an individual broadcasting over government regulated airwaves to call the sitting president a jackass? Or is he just looking for attention? Or both?" When Bush was Pres. he was called much worse by the talkers on Air America. So what? |

Was he?
Was he called, outright, a term that only until recently you could not use on the air? By someone who tries to claim that they are reporting things accurately, how they are? I think the worst I heard him called on the air was a moron, usually after siting a decision that was not exceptionally intelligent (and which was summarily faced with fire and brimstone from the Right's organized PR attack squad). I think the point is the duplicity of some of these hosts. Some, like Howard Stern, tell everyone that their words are their own opinions. Others, like Rush, claim their opinions are shared by many and that many OF them are not opinions, but Fact(isms) and Truth(oids). The guy defines Truthiness. |

Fromthe article linked: Chuckle Nuts, The Bush Bastard, Mensa Man, The Unelected Idiot, The Giggling Killer, President Bunny Pants, Raisin Brain, Dim Son, Man or Monkey, Weak and Stupid, Dipthong, The Toy President, Guaca-Moron, Cinco de Moron, Prince Valium, Too-Stupid-To-Wear-His-Pants-Forward, Too-Stupid-to-Be-President, Too-Stupid-to-Chew-a-Pretzel, Too-Stupid-to-Ride-a-Bicycle. And he would call the Bushes, "The Bush Crime Family" "The Bush Crime Family", bastard, idiot .... jackass.... what's the difference? They all have their own audience. And AirAmerica had theirs. If we have problems with "an individual broadcasting over government regulated airwaves calling the sitting president a jackass" then just remember next time there is a President that you don't like. More serious problems are on Television with a network parading as a news-organization with a Glenn Beck... calling the Pres. a racist etc. |

^^
Some of those Bushisms are pretty funny. At least they were relatively clever. I especially liked Dim Son. Cinco de Moron, and Too Stupid to Wear His Pants Forward. Rush can say anything he wants, although jackass sounds a blatant. I guess it is better than anti-colonial or whatever the hell Newt said (I am still tryng to figure that one out) . To me he just sounds angry, like he cannot get over the fact Obama was elected. But maybe that is just me. |

^ And given the choice between "jackass" and "bastard" ...or "idiot" ...or "stupid"?
--- "But seeing how I have never heard of MM, does an unheard comment hold as much weight as a fat-ass screaming to a hungry listenership?" And if a tree falls in the woods? Personally, I didn't hear Limbaugh's comment. |

I didn't either.
I heard of it through the news. And MM's? Through a posting on an architectural BBS in response to a posting about another syndicated radio show personality that was reported on the news...... But whatever. A tree may fall in the woods, but the person it fell on really does not care much about the sound it made. |
