A 09-11 widow who lost her husband in the 09-11 terror attacks, has died in a plane crash late last night.

Beverly Eckerd whose beloved husband Sean was kiiled on 09-11 has now perished herself in what is being described as the worst air disaster in recent years.

Continental Flight# 3407's intended route was from Newark to Buffalo. The plane went down just outside of Buffalo. It comes on the heels of the USAirways plane which was forced to make a water landing on the Hudson River last month after having suffered a bird strike.

All 49 passengers and crew on board and one person on the ground were killed. The craft was a turboprop. Ice on the wings is the suspected culprit, but it still has yet to be officially confirmed.

The recorders were found, removed from the wreckage and were sent to Washington, DC. The investigation is on-going.

Not me.

Wouldn't do it either! I feel much safer in a jet that seats 100 or more passengers.

A small plane has just crashed into the side of a house in Windham, NH. The pilot is ok, though he appears to be disorientated.

I've flown in these.

One of the best safety records of any high production airplane.

I've flown on the Shorts 330 once in the early '80s.

I've flown on the SAS DASH 8 several times without problem, the exact same DASH 8's later grounded by SAS for gear trouble.

They were in service for short hops in and out of Copenhagen, which is my usual hub when flying from NY to Europe (gotta love those SAS crew), and Copenhagen airport is just awesome.

They go pretty fast for a non jet (turbo prop), and you get a great view of everything below, like taking the slow train of air travel.

I never felt in danger flying with them, even when the gear deploys from the engine nacelles, which seems to be a huge mechanical event for a small plane traveling fast. They seemed stable enough.

Any news of the cause of this event? It seems to be an aberration.
