Default Give praise to the Lord...unless you're black.

Another idiot pastor. I didn't realize that the bible says only white people are allowed to worship. I'd like to hear his justification for this.

Being in the Air Force, the only people who are seemingly outspokenly religious are the blacks....

My Dad commanded a B-47 squadron at Whiteman AFB back in the 50s and early 60s. In those days, interracial anything was illegal in the state of Missouri. When a highly skilled black NCO reported for duty, and it was noted that his wife was white, my Dad had the sad duty to explain to the NCO that if he went off base, the locals might arrest him or even lynch him. He arranged for an immediate transfer to a more northern base.

As for the statement that in the AF only blacks are the most outwardly religious, I seem to recall a white AF Academy commandant being cited for outwardly proselytizing for born-again Christianity, and cadets who were not professed Christians were allegedly humiliated by cadet first classmen. Supposedly, that's not the case anymore, but still the AF has been a hot-bed for white evangelicals for years.

in the navy, i remeber alot of white folks wanting the prayer meetings, etc. the closest, was a mexican who did a bunch of bible stuff. he's the darkest one i can remember doing that. the black folks just never made an issue out it. my guess? it was just so much a part of their growing up, it was no longer a big deal.

Among the enlisted, I agree with you. Not in the officer corps, though.

I read the article. Apparently this church has a whopping 40 members.

The new pastor voided the vote on interracial couples - so they are now allowed again to be in that church. It's a small church anyway. But it wasn't right for the former pastor to take a vote on it since I don't remember seeing anything about interracial couples being against Christianity.

Then again, someone that was against it could cherry pick a Bible verse like they do for homosexuals or everything else.
