Default Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY??!!! WTF??
Seriously?? Makes me question our whole legal system. If it was a judge trial she'd have been found guilty, but because we can only have jurors who know nothing about a case before it goes to trial (i.e uninformed and/or stupid) you end up with verdicts like this one.

I guess jurors feel they have to actually witness a murder with their own eyes these days in order to convict?

Circumstantial evidence is circumstantial.

The prosecution presented a weak case.

Well, I am not sure I would describe the prosecution case as weak but I do believe they focused too much on science which was too refutable (odor forensics) and allowed the defense to introduce too much wild misdirection without completely refuting it. Juries will convict on circumstantial but when it is a death penalty case usually err on the side of the defendant.

Yeah....because wrapping duct tape around your dead baby's mouth after she "drowned" and then partying for a month while not reporting the "accident" is believable.....Put togther enough circumstantial evidence and it no longer becomes circumstantial as a whole. Too bad not enough people in our country realize that.

Oh yeah....OJ didn't kill his wife and her boyfriend either.....

She doesn't have to be believeable...she doesn't have anything to prove.

The prosecution must prove she did it.

I will admit, the media reports seemed pretty convincing to me...but I didn't sit there for 3 weeks and go over all the evidence, so I have to believe that 12 random citizens are not completely unreasonable.

12 "random" citizens, who were so clueless about what was going on in the world around them that they had never heard of this case before getting summoned for jury duty yet lived within a couple hundred miles of where it happened.

Put this case in front of educated, well informed, judges and she would have been found guilty on all counts. Lucky for her, the system is set up for "peers" to decide your guilt.

I watched a replay of the verdict reading on cnn dot com. Not only did her parents not shout out with joy when the verdict was read, they didn't even smile. Her parents know she's guilty...why couldn't the jury figure it out??!!

Even if the jury knows shes guilty, the prosecutors have to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. I dont think they did that, i do however, feel that shes as guilty as the come.

The prosecutions case was weak. I was pretty well informed of the case before the trial but spent half the trial going WTF at what the prosecution was presenting. The defense's job is to prove doubt- they did it. The prosecution failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she killed Caylee. Whether we like it or not the justice system worked.

You mean 12 people that you've never met and have no idea who they are?

At least some of them had heard of the case, but felt they could be impartial.

Put this case in front of educated, well informed, judges and she would have been found guilty on all counts. Lucky for her, the system is set up for "peers" to decide your guilt. Orrr...maybe sensationalist media shows don't give the full story?

OJ- not guilty
Blake - not guilty
Michael jackson - Not guilty
William Kennedy Smith - Not guilty

I watched a replay of the verdict reading on cnn dot com. Not only did her parents not shout out with joy when the verdict was read, they didn't even smile. Her parents know she's guilty...why couldn't the jury figure it out??!! ...because the jury had the responsibility of deciding whether the burden of proof had been met.

It's easy to think she is guilty...but when the prosecution couldn't say how she was killed, where she was killed, when she was killed or why she was killed...pretty tough to say they proved beyond a reasonable doubt who killed her.

The state proved Casey was a shitty mother, a liar, a slut, and a person who made bad decisions all-around, but couldn't prove she was a murderer. Well ya win some, ya lose some. Damn.

It's about time the blue collar working class got away with murder...literally! I mean, every politician and Wall Street tycoon does it, so why can't the little guy?

I'm looking forward to this chick making her first porno in about a year...or less. She will have hit rock bottom by then and need the money for the drugs she takes to numb her guilty soul....

There are pros and cons to a free society, and this is one of the cons.

Japan has a much lower crime rate than us, and a 99% conviction rate. But such a system would not be compatible with the Consitution and our concept of "innocent until proven guilty". If we want fair trials, we've just got to accept the harsh reality that sometimes the guilty will get away unpunished too.

What's f'ed up about our legal system that winning a court case depends not on whether or not you're actually guilty/innocent, but how much money you have.

Take the Dukes "rape" trial for example. Yes, trumped up charges. But if those guys were blue collar, they would have been convicted. The only reason they missed the bullet of political correctness is because they had rich parents who could hire an expensive legal team, and fight a prolonged courtroom battle.

Usually, the little guy just as to plead guilty and take whatever "justice" get's dished out to him.

For a psycho, she's pretty damn hot. I wouldn't mind rubbing one out to her.

Well Joe Bonham, what's stopping you from rubbing one out to her already?! Think "Hall Pass" and take those mental "Spank Bank" photos!
