People today make their political decisions based on something else, based on the clear perpendicular line dividing incumbents through the parties. The Right and the Left is becoming less important, and maybe one day could even be phased out as we know it.

Yeah, the right has become a constitutional movement and the left has become a Marxist movement... Its become freedom vs security... |

Well, real conservatives, libertarians and republicans want to get back to the basics such as constitution while the rest of the nation wants to go the way of communism.... |

I believe that we must get back to constitutional principles and end the corruption. This is not a right or left concept.
People of high character can differ on the depths and means of government size and scope, and can work together to find common ground. The hope being that common ground is even better than either side's original idea. But, first they must be grounded in the constitutional idea of America, in liberty, and with high moral character. What we have had on the right is world hegemony. (forcing our views on the world) What we now have on the left is Marxism. (a few forcing their views on the many). The politics of force must stop. The tea party is the way out for both true Dems and true Republicans. I wish everyone could see that by now! Geesh! End the wars, end wasteful spending, end the US government intrusion into our lives and into others lives. |

Smaller Government is a matter of perception. When people say they want smaller Government they all have their own idea as to exactly in what way it should be smaller. Nearly every voter believes Government should be smaller in at least one or two ways. When Conservatives try to claim the Small Government Card, they fail to back it up 100%. They do want smaller Government in the sense of Taxes, Business, and Health care, but they don't want it for the Military, the Drug War, or Religious interference. Liberals are considered to want a larger Government, but not when it comes to Anti Marijuana laws, they want smaller Government on that. Liberals such as Bill Clinton made the Government much smaller in the sense of Government spending in the Military. So Conservatives want less Government spending, unless that happens to be Military Spending. The Truth is both sides want the same thing, they all believe in a different ways to arrive there. What we have had on the right is world hegemony. (forcing our views on the world) What we now have on the left is Marxism. (a few forcing their views on the many). The politics of force must stop. I agree the Right has done that to a point, but other than a few Middle Eastern Countries, we haven't gone that crazy. I don't think the left is bad enough to be called Marxist, but they are something smaller of the same animal. A Marxist wouldn't believe in smaller Military, or legalizing any drugs. The rights of the people are disadvantageous to a Marxist Government. What the Left wing is more in favor of is a Switzerland like law structure, which has a very long list of disadvantages. The tea party is the way out for both true Dems and true Republicans. I wish everyone could see that by now! Geesh! Trying to group the two sides together I believe is going to end in failure. If a bunch of Democrats started chanting about ending Military Government Spending, they wouldn't want to hear it, because they don't truly want smaller Government. End the wars, end wasteful spending, end the US government intrusion into our lives and into others lives. I would say a good 70% of the population would get behind this mantra, but I don't hear the Tea Party saying "End the wars" too often. |
