Hello eveyrone,
My family and I have just returned from our annual holiday in Fiji, and I would like to say that we had the blessing, honour and pleasure of attending a missionary Church near Nadi, the Holy Archdiocese of New Zealand (Fiji, Tonga and Samoa). Here we met Metropolitan Amphilochios, a humble and beautiful man full of Christ's Love, who is spreading the Word of God in a way I have never witnessed before. We now have 42 new Orthodox Christians, recently baptised into the Orthodox Church, and two (soon-to-be) new locally born priests to serve their congregations. We were moved by the altruism shown by Fr. Amphilochios, and by the joy he showed giving joy to his congretation. May God bless his mission richly. ICXC NIKA Glory to God! |

I would be interested in learning more about other missionary work the Orthodox Church is involved in, Madagascar, etc. Any thoughts, anyone? |

The Greek Orthodox Bishop of New Zealand is also mentioned in part during a interview on Pravoslavie.Ru with Fr Vladimir Boikov about Orthodoxy in New Zealand. In part Fr Vladimir states that this is one of the most Missionary minded Bishops he has met ,who has opened Parishes not just in Fiji but in Vanuatu as well.
