I revived this thread as I'm looking specifically for Orthodox churches in the Galicia (NW) region of Spain, as I'll be spending a few weeks in A Coruna.
The OrthodoxWiki site has a list of parishes of various jurisdications around Spain but unfortunately none are in Galicia as far as I could tell. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Paul. |

I revived this thread as I'm looking specifically for Orthodox churches in the Galicia (NW) region of Spain, as I'll be spending a few weeks in A Coruna. The closest Orthodox parish to A Coruna I could find in Spain is in Santander, 677 km away (about 6 hours by car). There is one parish closer that I found, but it's actually in Porto, Portugal, about 300 km away (about 3 hours driving time according to Google maps - the link is to the driving directions, if you're interested). There may be something closer than that, but if so, I couldn't find it in the time I spent looking. In Christ, Mike |

If I'm bumbling through the Spanish well enough, there appears to be a parish right in Pamplona. I found it on the website of the Arzobispado Ortodoxo de España y Portugal, near the bottom of the page. The parish looks to be in Barañain, just west of Pamplona. It looks like the Archbishopric of Spain and Portugal is part of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The listing includes a phone number but no email, and I couldn't find the listed address (Plaza los Cargos 2 - 1ª, 31010 Barañain) on Google Maps.
The next closest appears to be a parish of the Serbian Patriarchate in Irun, Spain. Here's the listing on Iglesia Ortodoxa, and the Google Maps location. Google puts it at about 104km and 1 hr 17 min from Pamplona. The listing includes a phone number and an email address. Every other parish I found appeared to be much farther away. In Christ, Michael |

I thought perhaps links to the online directories I've found might be useful to others planning visits to France and/or Spain.
Spain Parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate Parishes of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Parishes of the Serbian Patriarchate France Fairly comprehensive listing - includes parishes of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (Russian Exarchate and Greek Metropolis), Moscow Patriarchate, Antiochian Patriarchate, Serbian Patriarchate, Romanian Patriarchate, and Bulgarian Patriarchate. Parishes of the Coptic Orthodox Church Apologies if I butchered any jurisdictional designations - I just Anglicized directly from the Spanish and French. In Christ, Michael |

According to OrthodoxWiki, the Metropolitanate of Western and Southern Europe is a Diocese of the Church of Romania. They have a great map of their parishes/churches in Spain, France etc:

Does anyone have any information on the following?
DIÓCESIS HISPÁNICA ORTODOXA ISIDORIANA IGLESIA ORIENTAL HISPANA (Bajo la Jurisdicción del S*nodo de Milán) I was looking for Orthodox churches in Andalucia, close to Cadiz, and found a parish of theirs. See http://orientalhispana.webs.com/nuestroclero.htm However I do not know if they are in communion with the Church of Greece. Who are the Synod of Milan? Old Calendarist? There is no mention of them on OrthodoxWiki or links from the other sites that Mike posted above. The closest parishes of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and others are in Sevilla and Malaga, several hours drive away from Cadiz (according to google maps, anyway.) Any info is much appreciated. |

They are an Old Calendarist group: http://orthodoxwiki.org/Holy_Synod_of_Milan As with all of the Old Calendarist jurisdictions, the Milan Synod is not currently in communion with the mainstream Orthodox churches. Unfortunately that means the closest parish of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to Cadiz is in Sevilla, 1-2 hours drive away. Not quite sure how to deal with that if I end up staying in Cadiz with my family over a long term (months). |
