Secretly photographing up women’s skirts, Japanese national “pervert” arrested

According to a report by Dongfang Daily, on September 3rd at about 8:20 am, there was a sudden disturbance in a train car on the Shanghai Metro Line 2, when a girl grabbed and refused to let go a man. It turns out, she had discovered this man using his mobile phone to secretly photograph her up her skirt.

With the help of other passengers, the foreign man was sent to the metro police station. The police said that the case is now under investigation and the man will be punished in accordance with the law if confirmed guilty.

Mr. Ge who was in the subway car at the time witnessed the entire incident, and also took photos. The photos provided by Mr. Ge show that this man was 20-30 years old, has a beard, and was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and suit pants. Mr. Ge told the reporter, “When he was taking photos, the girl found out and immediately grabbed him. At first we all thought he was stealing her mobile phone, but later the girl said he was snapping upskirt photos.”

Mr. Ge also said that after the girl in the white skirt grabbed the man, she demanded that he hand over his phone. When the surrounding passengers learned what happened, they also helped hold him. Mr. Ge says, “When the girl talked to him, he only spoke Japanese and couldn’t speak Chinese, so the girl communicated with him in English.”

The police further confirmed that the man suspected of secretly taking upskirt photos is indeed a male foreign national. and that the police have taken the case and it will be dealt with in accordance with law.
