SEREMBAN - Two men armed with an automatic pistol, robbed a jewellery shop in Jalan Datuk Bandar Tunggal, here yesterday evening, taking away nine trays of jewellery.

In the 5pm incident, the two suspects wearing helmets stormed into the shop just when the employees were closing the shop.

Criminal investigation deputy head superintendent Lim Kim Fook said initial investigations revealed that the two men had parked their motorcycle in front of the shop, before entering the shop.

"While one robber pointed the pistol at them, the other told the employees to put the jewellery into a bag," he said, adding that there were no customers during the incident.

Lim said this was the largest robbery here involving gold shops.
