KOTA KINABALU - A woman could only watch in shame as a video footage of a man stealing from her workplace turned out to be her husband.
The 28-year-old ex-convict was later arrested after the woman, 28, and her employer lodged a police report on the theft of RM4,900 (S$1,900) from the shop in Likas on Wednesday. City police chief Assistant Commissioner Jauteh Dikun yesterday said the woman, who works as a promoter in the shop, found the storeroom opened when she came to work about 9.30am. "Suspecting something was amiss, she checked the premises and found about RM4,900 in cash that had been in an envelope missing," Jauteh said, adding the woman informed her employer and reviewed the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage. They lodged a police report leading to the arrest of the man two days ago at Kampung Pulau Penampang in Likas. "We believe the suspect had a duplicate key to the premises," Jauteh added. |
