Default Bomoh cons family
A traditional bomoh has conned a family in Pontian to part with RM6,450 (S$2,640) by claiming that she needed to pay a jin (genie) for its services to rid their home of supernatural disturbances, reported Harian Metro.

Juminah Basir, 57, said the practitioner, known as Aminah Daros, asked her family to prepare the money in order to perform the ritual at the house in Ayer Baloi.

While mumbling incantations, she placed the money in a package with a Quran before sewing it up and forbade Juminah from opening it until further instructions.

However, the family became suspicious when the 48-year-old woman asked for an extra RM4,400 to help them retrieve "treasures" beneath their kampung home.

They opened the package to find the money gone.

"When we contacted the woman, she claimed that the money was borrowed supernaturally' to hire the jin to get rid of the disturbances and claimed it will reappear on Hari Raya," she said, adding that the woman had disappeared and the family had lodged a police report.
