Police in China launched a major rescue operation to save a drowning woman, only to discover the victim was actually a discarded sex doll. A crowd of around 1,000 people gathered at a riverbank in Shandong Province as 18 officers worked frantically for almost an hour to save the stricken rubber toy. Additional medical workers and firefighters struggled to get to the scene as the drama unfolded. The officers, who had been responding to reports of a woman in distress, eventually managed to haul the rubber toy to safety. According to RocketNews24.com, after realising their embarrassing mistake, the rescuers presented the doll to the crowd, who quickly covered their children’s eyes and dispersed. A spokesman said they were forced to act because the toy was so similar in size and appearance to an adult female. Shandong Province is major manufacturing centre for sex toys. Last month we reported how a young Chinese reporter was left mortified after mistaking a sex toy for a rare mushroom in a television report. Villagers from Liucunbu, a rural community outside western Chinese city of Xi’an, had discovered the sex toy while drilling a new well shaft. |
