A father of two has been jailed for six years for trying to rape a 15-year-old girl just a year after being freed from prison. Wai Chi-yau was released last year after serving four years and eight months for sexually attacking his ex-girlfriend after knocking her out with chloroform in the heat of a break-up quarrel. In the case concerning the teenager, the High Court heard that Wai, 30, first met her on the street last September 16 and then stalked her for four days. He then approached the girl and asked her to help his son. He said the boy had been locked up in an apartment by someone and he could not release him on his own. But after the girl went to the apartment in Yau Ma Tei, Wai refused to let her leave. Wai then forced the girl to remain in his flat for four hours during which time he forced her to perform oral sex and tried to rape her. Wai later took the girl home and warned her not to tell anyone. But she immediately told her mother of her ordeal. The same day, Wai was suddenly overcome with guilt and turned himself in at a nearby police station. Yesterday, he pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault and one of attempted rape. |
