GEORGE TOWN - Police arrested three members of an English Premier League football online betting syndicate from an upscale condominium here yesterday.

A police spokesman said a raiding team entered the Damai Vista Condominium at 1.40am after a tip-off.

He said the three, including a woman, were busy collecting bets for Saturday's live matches to be aired on Astro when the police moved in.

Several Astro decoders, 15 mobile phones, computers, laptops and betting slips were seized.

It is believed that the syndicate took in about RM500,000 (S$208,450) in bets each week.
