A teenager who allegedly planned her own kidnapping was caught together with her boyfriend and three other teenage boys at a hotel in Jitra, Kedah.

Harian Metro reported that the 15-year-old student from an Islamic religious school in Ayer Hitam, Kedah, had sent a text message to her adoptive father using an unknown mobile phone number.

The SMS stated that her captors had threatened to kill her if her abduction was reported to the police.

According to the Malay daily, the girl had allegedly planned her own kidnapping so that she could spend time alone with her boyfriend.

Kangar district police chief Supt Abdul Rahman Mohd Noordin said the girl's adoptive father made a police report at 12.30am last Saturday.

According to Supt Abdul Rahman, the girl was approached by a stranger when she went out before her "kidnapping" on Friday.

The girl then returned home at about 8pm and told her father about the encounter before going out again to a supermarket.

She was allegedly kidnapped when she went out the second time.

"At 9pm on Saturday, police raided a budget hotel room in Jitra and found the victim together with four teenage boys aged bet*ween 16 and 19," Supt Abdul Rahman said.

He said he believed that the girl had been raped twice by a suspect before she was left with the rest of his friends.

"We believe the victim planned her own kidnapping.

"We also believe the SMS (sent to the victim's father) was sent by one of the suspects," Supt Abdul Rahman said.
