Dead man’s family wants cops to act fast

KAJANG: The family of air-conditioner dealer Liew Kuan Meng, whose body parts were found in an oxidation pond in Taman Pasir Mas here on Dec 30, hopes that the police can trace the events that led to his death and quickly apprehend the culprits.

The family had reported on Nov 7 that Kuan Meng, 29, had gone missing after he was last seen at a coffeeshop near their home in Taman Berjaya, Sungai Chua.

Grieving father: Tin Soon in tears at Liew’s residence in Kajang Sunday

“My other sons talked to his friends and from a closed-circuit TV footage, we concluded that he was at the shop,” his father, Liew Tin Soon, 67, told a press conference at their house yesterday.

“I want to know what happened to my son after he went missing,” sobbed Tin Soon, 67, who alleged that the family was only informed about his son’s decomposed remains by some undertakers who called him.

Media reports said workers from Indah Water Konsortium stumbled upon the body parts while cleaning up the pond.

The family brought his disappearance to the attention of MCA public complaints bureau chairman Datuk Michael Chong.
