Default Grisly Murder

Tamil Nesan reported that a software engineer had succeeded in keeping under wraps the murder of his wife for two months until the law finally caught up with him on Sunday night.

It was reported that Rajesh Gulati, 37, had allegedly smothered his 36-year-old wife Anupama Gulati to death in their two-room rented house at Prakash Nagar, Dehradun about 300km from Delhi after a quarrel on Oct 17.

He bought an electric cutter from the market and used it to cut the body into 70 pieces. He had also bought a deep freezer to keep the body pieces.

When his four-year-old twins Sonakshi and Sidhant enquired about their mother, Rajesh told them that she was away in Delhi.

The murder came to light on Sunday morning when Anupama’s elder brother suspected foul play and lodged a missing person’s report.

Police searched the engineer’s house and recovered severed body parts, including Anupama’s head from the deep freeze.
