A factory worker in Singapore tried to end her life so that her family could use her life insurance money to resolve their financial problems, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The 24-year-old woman jumped off the ninth floor of her family’s apartment but survived with multiple injuries.

The woman, known only as Wu, told reporters that her father became addicted to gambling some 10 years ago and he sold off their three-bedroom apartment to pay his debts.
