Default Knuckle dusters used in robbery

Knuckle dusters used in Sydney robbery
Friday, July 23, 2010 09:01pm

A 27-year-old man was punched in the face and body by a man wearing silver knuckle dusters during a robbery in Sydney's west, police say.
The victim suffered cuts and abrasions after being confronted by two men in Wigram Road, Harris Park about 10.25pm (AEST) on Thursday.

The pair, one of whom wore the knuckle dusters, pulled up in a silver sedan and demanded cash from the victim. He refused and was attacked. Police say it is being linked to an attempted robbery 15 minutes later in nearby Good Street. This time a 31-year-old man was told to hand over money.

But a witness challenged the robbers and they fled empty-handed. 'The victims in both incidents have provided similar descriptions to police and therefore it is believed to be linked,' Inspector Gary Sims said. 'At both scenes it appears a set of silver knuckle dusters were produced and the offenders used a silver sedan.'
