Atiyah Ald al-Rahman reported killed in a tribal region of Pakistan on 8/22. Probably killed during a drone attack.

This #2 was among the people who communicated the most with OBL. This was discovered in papers seized in the raid on OBLs compound. That was one of reasons that drew attention to him.

I'll try to post a link later when my cat gets off my chest.

This link covers some of the same things as the first but expands some on Al-Rahman's inportance to Al-Qaida. The link also acknowledges that many others were killed in the past and others filled in quickly. Al-Rahman seems to have been a key player.
