besides, many other comparisons between London and Philly will make Philly look trivial. That's just what happens when a quarter of the world's wealth and people get lorded over from one city for 200 years, while the other city has to make its own destiny while competing against others only a hundred miles away.

I am always impressed when people go to the streets and empower the voice of the silent, whats the point to read/watch the news and then wait for the next day ??

London Riots: Organized via Twitter and Smart Phones? - TIME
"Do I think that social media is responsible? No. That's bonkers," she says. "It's ultimately the people who were doing it that are responsible. That's what we need to get to grips with." |

Actually, after getting more info, I would have to take some of that back. Going to the streets to be heard is one thing, looting and property destruction is another. It looks like the thug element used the excuse to run wild. |

And yet they don't have the gun deaths we have in this country. We're in no position to lecture the world on how to handle their gun-culture affairs. I would also say if our country was more pro-firearm and taught the benefits of responsible fire arm handling we would see crime go down |

Best pic I've seen yet from the riots. Some locals make the riot police a cup of tea, so the police officer uses her riot shield as a tray to bring it back to her fellow officers.

I would guess (to lazy to google) that the majority of gun deaths, & violent crime in general happen, in areas of America w/ strict gun laws (Cities) and and high drug 'crime' I suppose it's possible; maybe we can become more obese too. |

Analysis - London riots point to wider risks of youth unrest | Reuters
The article mentions unrest world-wide. It won't be terribly long before the thug swarms get a little bigger and uglier here. |

I doubt that, the problems with youth in the UK aren't exactly the same here. Both countries problems are very similar except ours are larger (dollar wise) The UK government slashed billions of pounds from public spending by 2015 to reduce the huge deficit, inflated after the country spent billions bailing out their banksters. Sound familiar? It's what we did (banksters) and we are going to be cutting public spending soon. They placed a bandaid over their problem with a bailout similar to TARP, and then realized it wasn't going to hold. And in turn did what they should have done from the get, only now people are demanding their entitlements. Can you predict where this story is going to repeat itself? How soon? I guess that depends on how quickly we get back to 7k on the DOW |
