Libya... but not anywhere else. Someone on her staff will have to explain to her later today that most Libyans are Muslims just like in Egypt and that the chance for radicalism in Libya is much greater than Egypt. Possibly leading to another radical government in OPEC. Egypt was different, no one knew who might take over: "Nobody yet has explained to the American people what they know, and surely they know more than the rest of us know, who it is who will be taking the place of Mubarak and I'm not real enthused about what it is that, that's being done on a national level and from D.C. in regards to understanding all the situation there in Egypt. |

Not at all.
However, Ms. Palin's reasoning seems to be in question regarding support popular uprisings, and the possibility of radical governments taking over after them. Or does she see an opportunity in the instability created by this uprising and the possiblity of a radical/Isalmic radical government to raise the price of oil? |

why are you so pro-ghadafi? "...we need to find out who was behind all of the turmoil and the revolt and the protests so that good decisions can be made in terms of who we will stand by and support." I'm afraid I've been reading what Sarah Palin had said: Sarah Palin Criticizes President Barack Obama on Egypt Saying 3 a.m. call Went to Answering Machine - ABC News Isn't this thread about Libya? I had a co-worker who I guess doesn't watch the news or he's just very suspcious of it and when we started discussing Libya and the protesters, he was saying how they should just follow their leader and stay in line. When I mentioned that the leader of Libya ordered his troops to shoot unarmed protesters, that's when he said that you can't believe everything the media reports. Which is true. But I think it's pretty safe to say that protestors have been killed and those killing seemed to spark an even greater rebellion in Libya. Of course there's a chance that some extremist Muslims could try and use this to their benefit, but at the end of the day, Libyians have to sort that stuff out for themselves. America has to get off of this track where we tell nations what they should be doing, especially when we only do it to support profits and the economy in America and not because we genuinely want to see other nations and its people prosper. How hypocritical is it for us to say that we want democracy for all, but then when the people choose someone who's interests don't coincide with America's, we threaten to stop sending money. And money that probably wasn't even getting to the people who really needed it. On Egypt. Everyone keeps talking about the Muslim Brotherhood. If the Egyptian people want to allow that organization some sort of say so, when it comes to governing Egypt, than that's there business. There's a reason why a portion of the world hates America and our meddling in the affairs of other counties is just one of the reasons. Maybe we should see better conditions for people at home, before looking outward. |
