This is the end result of absurd open-ended limited conflicts camouflaged as war, similar to Vietnam with incidents like My Lai. Whether you believe in these ‘war’ or not; most give our troops lots of leeway in hell holes like Aftghan, Iraq, and other oversees adventures considering the time, tours, & rules of engagements.

That said; these are as morally corrupt a series of war crimes you can commit. They should pay for their sins b/ what they did was wrong & was illegal under the UCMJ. This will also have a huge political and moral cost on our country and armed forces.

I'm not sure what the point is since this sort of killing has always occured during war and always will. Some will be
punished but the war marches on.
